Orange and Blue Game

Today was the Spring Orange and Blue game. We decided to tailgate with friends and then head over to the game. The kids had a lot of fun playing together, but of course the adults were all outnumbered. We lasted for almost the 1st half of the game, but Addi was not a fan of all the yelling and cheering and would burst into tears every time it got loud, so she and I spent most of the game up in the concourse area by ourselves. Hopefully this will be the first of many Orange and Blue games to come.....a new family tradition if you will!

Anatomy 101

So, since Brooke had a brother at an early age we had to teach her the difference between boys and girls and what their respective "parts" were called. Tonight I was giving Addison a bath and Brooke and Austin were watching as they always do. Brooke decided to give me a little Anatomy lesson right then and there and it went something like this: "Mommy, girls have Ginas and boys have Peanuts." LOL!! So goes the mind of a 4 year old :o)

Beep, Beep

There are many Gator Dugout club couples that have basically "adopted" Jeff and our family as their pseudo grandkids. One couple, The Arnettes, )Johnny who used to play baseball for UF) just love our kids and are always giving them presents. This year after Addison was born they bestowed upon them a little $ to spend as they wanted. We took them to Toys R Us this weekend and bought them a new 2-seater Jeep. I took them for a walk this morning and decided to get a few snapshots to let the world know how excited they are about this new present. I'm excited too because for once it keeps them contained and with me during a walk as opposed to them taking off way in front and giving me a heart attack because they jst dom't get the whole "don't go in the road because you'll get hit by a car!" phrase. There's a little bed attached to the back of the Jeep so when Addi gets a bit older she can be chauffered around by her bigger siblings :o) Thanks Johnny and Betty!

My Sweet Boy

Just when I think Austin is this rough and tumble little boy who is always getting himself into trouble, he can surprise the heck out of me. Jeff bought him this new pair of Batman pj's (complete with a cape and all) when he was in Auburn on the first baseball trip of the season. Austin absolutely LOVED his present, so much so that he is basically obsessed with these pj's. He wants to wear them morning, noon, and night, which can be a little annoying for Mommy who KNOWS they need to be washed at some point, but gets a lot of grief over it. Today we had my friend Michelle over with her 3 girls for a play date and the kids knew when they left it was going to be nap time. I was picking up Austin's room as they were getting ready to leave and he came in to see what I was doing. He saw his pj's on his bed and said "Mommy, I put these on?" At first I looked at him and said "No, buddy they are for night time." Then I took a step back, thought for a moment, and said "well, okay, you can wear them if you'd like." Austin then looked at me and said "Thanks Mommy, you're the best!" Thinking my ears were failing me, I even made him repeat what he said just so I could be 100% sure :o) Yup, he said it alright! Melted my heart right then and there and made me forget how much of a challenge he has been the past few days!

Bumbo Baby

So, this is just a funny post. After tonight I really think that Addi needs to go on a baby diet, or perhaps her Mommy does since it's her milk that is making her such a chubett! (FYI: I am trying to give up chocolate for her and it's killing me! Birthing her created a chocoholic and I'm fighting all temptations to have some.) Now I know how smokers feel when they try to quit! Brooke and I decided to break out the Bumbo Seat for Addi before putting her pj's on her tonight and well, let's just say she gives a Sumo Wrestler a run for his money! Also, Brooke has affectionately nicknamed her "Fatty Addi."

Addi's Photo Shoot

When Addison was a mere 10 days old we had our friend, Shandon Smith, come over to do a newborn photo shoot of her. Man, can it be difficult to get such a little baby to cooperate for the perfect pose :o)! In between the nursing, crying, sleeping, pooping(yes on me once), and taking the clothes on and off of her(you'd think she was doing a runway show or something!) Shandon got some pretty fantastic shots of her. So many in fact that I ordered a bunch and could have ordered more if my wallet(actually Jeff's) would have allowed for it. The link to the pictures is:

Not sure how long they will be up for, but if you get a chance please check them out. Shandon was so gracious and sent me my favorite photo of the 3 kids to post on here and then I added 2 others that she posted on her facebook and blog.
Addison has truly been a blessing and we are so fortunate to complete our family with her!

A Unique Dining Experience

Today after our MOPS Steering Team Meeting 5 of us decided it would be a good idea to head to lunch with the kids. That made for 7 adults and 9 kids (can you say WHOA!) When Michelle called to let them know we were coming, I don't think they had a clue what was in store. I think I saw a few eyes pop out of heads when we walked in and people were probably expecting the worst, but being the clever Moms we are we sat all of the kids on one side of the table(the bench side) and had two adults sit on the ends. All in all the kids were really good(considering they outnumbered us!) The entourage to the bathroom was an experience (all 9 kids went at once because of course they travel in packs, especially to the bathroom(what's up with that anyway?!?)), but luckily Kelly took over for me and I got to head back and order and enjoy Addison and the 4 adults at the table. It was quiet for a few minutes at least. So, as most of you know, I'm a little OCD....okay a lot OCD. This was a little difficult for me to control since Austin was sitting on the total opposite end of the table as me. I almost lost it when he climbed under the table for like the 20th time to retrieve something...can we say YUCK...GERMS!!! Jake could see the utter grotesque look on my face and we were all able to laugh about it, but secretly my skin was crawling. Why do little boys have to be so dirty all of the time??? Anyway, by the end of lunch all of the kids were a little restless, so they all sat at the bar and twirled in their chairs. It was so cute! And if you're wondering....none of them were served :o) I personally wouldn't have survived this adventure without my loving friends who push me to walk outside of my comfort zone. So therapeutic they are!!
